COURSE SUMMARY Weak
& Suffering, God Builds with Broken Tools
Life! It means so much more than one word can ever tell. It is filled with
joy and strength. It is filled with sufferings and weaknesses. We
could be experiencing some of those sufferings and weaknesses
right at this moment. These could be tragic. But those who love the Lord can
know that even sufferings are working for our good, though at times it is
hard to believe.
Suffering is something the
whole world shares in.
It’s hard to believe the Lord came down from his lofty safe position in
heaven to experience our humanity. Yet, He
wanted to share in our sufferings and weaknesses and the only way
He could was to be just like you and me. His life was a life of sorrows. He
was familiar with grief. He died an early, tragic death. Those present with
Jesus observed His suffering life and they did not understand the purpose.
Later they understood the tremendous value He brought to each of our lives.
In many ways, Job was like Jesus. Job had a tragic life, even though he was
the world’s most reverent worshiper of the one true God.
Just like Jesus, Job was blameless through his personal suffering. People
did not understand why Job was suffering and some thought he
deserved his suffering. Many thought the same way of Jesus. Yet, just like
Jesus’ life ended in victory by rising from the grave, the end of Job’s
life was filled with joy. God restored Job’s life to abundant family and
prosperity. God proved to us once again that good can come from suffering.
For Jesus, His sufferings helped bring eternal salvation. For us, our
sufferings can work blessings in our life and others, because God
builds His kingdom with broken tools.
