2. TRUE WORSHIPERS WORSHIP THE FATHER, NOT A GENDERLESS BEING

A GENDER BATTLE IS RAGING IN THE WORLD

“true worshipers will worship the Father
Jn 4:23

The gender war has influenced some Bible translators, and therefore it has affected their Bible translation work, that is, it has affected the accuracy of the gender in some Bibles. For example, some Bibles are so-called gender-neutral or gender-inclusive translations, a.k.a. masculine-neutered translations, such as the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV 1989, the fore-runner in this category), the New International Version - Inclusive (NIVI), and several others. The translators of these Bibles have intentionlly refused to translate thousands of masculine words. Instead they substitute or replace them with non-equivalent words of no-gender. More about these types of Bibles later in part C of this lesson.

Why do worshipers want a Bible that takes away the masculine overtones? Some worshipers are mistaken about or offended at the masculine gender or headship and therefore do not want a masculine Bible or God. They want a genderless God, and therefore, subsequently, want a so-called gender-neutral Bible or word of God. But is God or His word gender-neutral [i.e. masculine-emasculated]? Many Presbyterians seem to think so. Below, read a news article about it.

Presbyterians allow experimenting with alternatives to 'Father, Son and Holy Spirit'

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — The divine Trinity — "Father, Son and Holy Spirit" — could also be known as "Mother, Child and Womb" or "Rock, Redeemer, Friend" at some Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) services under an action Monday by the church's national assembly [the 217th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)]. Delegates to the meeting voted to "receive" a policy paper on gender-inclusive language for the Trinity, a step short of approving it. That means church officials can propose experimental liturgies [worship] with alternative phrasings for the Trinity...
